Succah by the Sea

As the Artistic Director for ‘Succah through the Sea’, Office Feuerman (OF) has curated six architects to re-envision the wealthy Jewish ritual of Succot at Sculpture through the Sea, Bondi 2019.

By transporting Succot to the Sydney coastline, it became essential to select, now no longer simplest Sydney-primarily based architects, but architects that convey their precise voice to the field of structure.

Raffaello Rosselli is an architect who engages closely with found, recycled and undesirable materials, taking the everyday and making them extraordinary. Lucy Humphrey Studio is our ‘Artist-Architect’, combining her unique web website online-precise structure capabilities together along with her poetic creative strategies to supply ephemeral nature-stimulated installations.

Other Architects (taking part with Izabela Pluta) are our ‘Cultural Producers’, a rising company which now, no longer simply produces airy consequences through buildings, but are deeply engaged in wider cultural discourse, through exhibitions, lectures, and teachings.

Urtzi Grau and Guillermo Fernandez-Abascal (taking part with Charlotte Haywood, Leah Giblin, and Selena Murray) are our ‘International Collaborators’, a crew primarily based in Sydney, whose enthusiasm brings an essential and radical architectural outlook to Australia. Super manoeuvre is our ‘Digital Innovators’, an exercise at the vanguard of all matters robotic, pushing the limits of structural and fabric innovation through computational logic. Scale Architecture are our ‘Domestic Experimentalists’, a company whose initiatives are rooted in thoughts of domesticity and intimacy, investigating the blurred courting among inner and outside.

At the coronary heart of Succot is the birthday party of network. A time withinside the year in which their own circle of relatives and pals come collectively to eat, drink, sing and create joyous recollections collectively. The placement of those six special Succah in a single area defines a completely unique public network on the coronary heart of Sydney’s coastline.

OFFICE FEUERMAN – THE VILLAGE

A series of six reflective tables and benches designed to reply to all the Succah structures. The ‘Village’ encourages people to take a seat down and gather, the reflected pinnacle offering a mirrored image of the encompassing environment.

An essential factor of a Succah is its temporality. This mission explores this through the duality of permanence. Large boulders are converted through the insertion of a wood roof and wall for the competition of Succot. After the competition, with timbers removed, now no longer a Succah leaving a hint to Succot.

LUCY HUMPHREY STUDIO – DUNE

‘Dune’ attracts at the cultural records of this Succah residing and the coastal web website online of Bondi. It explores the connection among an indoors happiness of haven and the sky - the heavy and light, the grounded and weightless.

OTHER ARCHITECTS WITH IZABELLA PLUTA – INSIDE OUT SUCCAH

‘Inside-Out Succah’ inverts the historically inward-dealing with Jewish succah. This remodelled and reorientated Succah reminds us that Jewish lifestyle continues to be evolving and invites us to spend greater time staring at the delicate world around us.

URTZI GRAU & GUILLERMO FERNANDEZ-ABASCAL WITH CHARLOTTE HAYWOOD, LEAH GIBLIN, SELENA MURRAY– A PORTABLE TERRITORY

Our succah isn't always a place; it's variable trajectories. Our succah isn't always an object; it's embodied systems. Our succah is a precarious questioning structure; it's a transportable territory.

SUPERMANOEUVRE – SUPERSUCCAH

‘SuperSuccah’ is a party of the yearly system of households and groups self-constructing their very own transient amassing areas with minimum means; making and remaking to bolster the relationships among people and places.

SCALE ARCHITECTURE – MONOLITUS DOMUM

Research into the connection among home lifestyles and public art. This intimate city residing room will create a spatial joy that performs on enclosure and outlook.

Holiday Home in Dutch

On the island of Texel in the Dutch  island of Wadden, a rubber holiday house wrapped in fishing nets has been put into use. The house is shaped like a 'schapenboet', a kind of storage room. The house is built with a wooden frame. Has been rubberized and  covered with colored fishing nets. The mesh is applied in two layers - the red, green and blue mesh is covered by the black mesh and divided into sections. These sections represent the cross-section of the building. Benthem Crouwel Architects designed  a private client's house in the  Wadden Island style.

'Schapenboeten' Texel is the largest of the Dutch Wadden Islands, an island of sheep and fishermen. The distinguishing feature of the Texel landscape are the "schapenboeten": small barns used not  for sheep but for  hay and tools. They were isolated in the  open grassland, on the land far  from the farm. has a gable roof with a beveled top  and faces southwest, which is the most common wind direction. The front door is  on the right, sheltered northeast  of the building.

The design of the holiday home was inspired by these typical barns, but unlike the barn, the house has many windows. on both facades only on the roof. The dunes and the sea are visible, and from the bedroom you can see the endless sky.

Interior and exterior fusion The house has a simple layout, kitchen/living room, bedroom, bathroom and the toilet is located on the ground floor for sleeping, working area and storage  are located on the first floor and basement. The interior is also simple: functional and bright, without distracting  the outside landscape. The large glass facade of the kitchen/living area reinforces the relationship with the garden. Nature becomes an important part of the house. On this side of the building, the interior and exterior seem to blend together.

Some of the peoples experiences at Baga Beach

Very good holiday destination in India . Entirely a different vibe and party mood all the time . The beach will be mostly crowded and people can enjoy the vibes if they like to be social . Shacks will be functioning since morning , few of them are offering breakfast.

But you can buy liquor any time and it will be definitely available . You can buy from retail shop for cheaper price and have it while on the go. Shacks will offer liquor on bar rates and food expense also will be little higher compared to some small restaurants and street food . Goa is not costly, you can plan budget trip and a lavish one . Good and clean hostels are available for cheap rates and have unique vibe. You have also option to go for wooden huts facing the beach .

The vibe is really awesome and one will definitely like it especially if you like to booze 🍻🍺. It is in north side of Goa . You can get scooter for rent at 400 rupees and plan a raid trip to nearby attractions like Anjuna beach, chapora fort; calangute beach , some very old churches . Beach will be on around 6pm in the evening.

They will light up all the shacks and seashore and also loud musics . There are many pubs as well which is active till morning 4 am . If you are coming in train , nearby station is Thivim.

Sling Beach Bug

Sling Beach Bug is located in the  Marathon district built on the sandy beach of Schinias Bay. What was sought was the design of a functional, low-cost building, integrated with the natural environment,  protection from the sun and the north wind and exposure to the beach and sea.

General layout is austere with clear geometric elements and consists of two units - the functional/auxiliary space (kitchen, bathroom, storage and restaurant) and the bar and restaurant.
Fundamentals version of the layout resulting from the functional separation of the two units and their slight rotation according to the lot limits, direction, wind and visibility.

The pergola serves as an extension of the house. row and at the same time extending the facade facing the sea and the view. Its shadow is complemented by the shade of a mature pine that blurs the line between the built environment and the natural.

Light is used uniquely different by Greek building standards, the wooden structure was chosen not only  for its low cost and high speed of construction, but also for its durability and  harmonious relationship with the environment.

Gallery of coral Holiday Apartments

The project involves the construction of an upmarket lifestyle community consisting of a professional serviced apartment complex, located on the reclaimed part of the main island of Seychelles - Sailwin with a boat docking station. The project  site has  direct access to the beach.

Concept - Biomimetic coral. This is a new type of  biomimetic architecture that seeks solutions for sustainability in nature, not by way of recreating natural forms, but  understanding the rules that govern these forms - it follows a set of principles for combining units through a script that is translated into a form. It begins with examining the  coral, its growth patterns, systems and processes. Shape is derived from the content of continuously moving units like a sea creature - coral or  moving sea. It has no start or end point. It can be an infinite continuum forming many urvy forms. Each unit acts as an individual organism like a  cell develops corals by the cell forming large colonies.

Architectural Spatial Layout Design. The apartment building should be arranged in one or more interlocking architectural spaces along the  length of the lot, which will provide optimal benefits for the grand view. positive from the windows of the apartment. Utilities, loading and unloading areas for restaurants and  parking lots should be separate from the main entrance area and  the reception area (swimming pool, beach).

The ground floor of the building will arrange the  main functional areas. following: main lobby of the apartment complex, amenities and facilities (restaurant and lobby bar,  spa and retail).

Residential-focused project - 1st floor up, building  used exclusively for apartments. Ceiling height - not lower than 3 meters. The windows of half of the apartments must have ocean views. consists of the same type of one- and two-bedroom apartments, with an average area of 40 m², and includes a spacious living room combined with a kitchen, a bedroom complete with a wardrobe, bathroom and large balcony/terrace.
